The Power Of Words...

"Children are likely to live up to what you believe of them”.  Lady bird Johnson, former U.S. First Lady
As an adult I’m still working to not live up to what others believed of me.  As a mom and teacher it reminds me about the power of words.  I believe positve expectations, positive examples and positve words can affect a child’s anxiety, anger, depression, self-image, self-esteem, how the make friends and how they reolve disputes.  A confidnet child can grow into a confident adult.

  1. Lilliane, I really like what you said about the power of words. Words can do so much to a person whether it is used for positive reinforcing or used in a negative way. Ive seen first hand the devasting effects that negative words can have on young children and its absolutely heart breaking. On the flip side I have seen the effects that positive words and positive attitudes can have on children as well. As a mom to a little girl I always give her positive affirmations even if she isnt quite old enough to understand them yet. It is my mission to see that i give her all that she needs to grow into a beautiful confident young woman.
