Quotes to Think About…..
“Until justice is blind to color, until education is unaware of race, until opportunity is unconcerned with the color of men’s skins, emancipation will be a proclamation but not a fact.”
“Education is not a problem. Education is an opportunity”.
Lyndon B Johnson 36th US President(1963-69).
“Throughout the country, there is an education gap between minority and white children. We think ECD is one important way, one effective way of reducing the gap. If you wait until an at-risk child is in kindergarten, then it's often too late. During the beginning years, the brain does not develop as it should if the child is not in a healthy environment. It isn’t that the brain can’t compensate in later years, but it’s never as efficient”.

“…It was like the most joyful experience where I felt that everything in me was being called to teach and also, it was very rewarding – it just made me feel whole, it made me feel creative.”
- Louise Derman-Sparks, Professor Emeritus,
"I’m not here to save the world, I’m here just to make a difference in the community I am working…. making a difference may sometimes mean helping one child be able to be successful in the classroom…one little sparkle will make a difference for me throughout the whole day."
-Raymond Hernandez , MS Ed
